Wilted Spring

Wilted Spring

201940" x 37"Archival pigment print

Wilted Spring is the counterpoint to its more boisterous twin, Spring! where I left the set for several days, then returned to it once it had past its prime and rephotographed the result. There is a grace and beauty to how things wither, which photography can preserve but not enhance - wilted flowers are already stilled and frozen versions of whatever motion they held when fresh.
